I hosted SELF’s wellness advice podcast, which launched in November 2020, and also wrote a weekly newsletter of the same name.

Try to Keep Up: Video Series

One of SELF’s most popular YouTube video series, in which two groups of athletes try to teach each other the basics of their sport.

The Weight Issue: Editorial Package and Brand Style Guide Relaunch

In June 2018, SELF relaunched with a digital cover featuring plus-size model Tess Holliday, as well as a newly revamped style guide outlining how the brand will address weight and health going forward.

Vaccines Save Lives: Editorial Package and Photo Partnership

In August 2019, SELF magazine published an editorial service package dedicated to combating vaccine hesitancy. We partnered with the American Academy of Pediatrics to develop medically accurate and non-fear-mongering vaccine stock imagery. I also published a related op-ed in the New York Times: Who Cares What Celebrities Think About Vaccines?

Black Maternal Mortality: National Magazine Award-Nominated Series

In 2019 SELF began publishing a recurring editorial series exploring the Black maternal mortality crisis in the United States. This series was nominated for a National Magazine Award in personal service.

Everyday Athletes: Photography and Fitness Instructional Series

Fitness is for everyone. So at SELF, we held regular casting calls for our workouts, seeking “non-model fitness enthusiasts” to star in recurring on-site workout content. We shot hundreds of workout moves for the series.
